Departmental Guide

Welcome to our departmental guide, we hope you will find this information helpful.

Youth Work

Our young people's department is known as Nazarene Youth International, or 'NYI'. It is open to all young people over the age of 12.  Currently there is no NYI meeting in the church, but please keep an eye open for further announcements about this.  Meantime our Sunday Clubs (see below) cater for all ages of children and young people on a Sunday morning.

Children's & Sunday School Ministries

We have a lively children's programme which concentrates in three main activities. Sunday mornings we hold 'Sunday Clubs' for children of all ages. Children begin the morning service with the whole congregation and leave at suitable point in the service to go to their classes. This is bible based teaching to the highest standard, but retaining an element of fun to keep the kids interested.

On Wednesday evenings at 6pm our children's club 'Kool Kids' operates. This mixes bible stories, singing, quizzes and other activities to provide an active, integrated and lively programme. We pull no punches in proclaiming the Gospel, yet we find the kids love it and look forward to it every week.

Missionary Society

The Nazarene Missions International, or NMI, group holds meetings throughout the year, usually in the form of a Sunday service. NMI teaches us about the work of our missionaries worldwide, supports them in prayer and in more practical ways, and collects funds towards the work of the NMI missionaries globally.

Adult ministries

In addition to the regular church services & meetings there are other activities geared specifically for adults and families. We have a 'Ladies' fellowship and Bible study evening monthly on a Friday, which provides a friendly atmosphere for discussion of topical issues and a time of fellowship'.

We also hold a weekly 'Time Out' meeting on Tuesday afternoons for senior adults and adults who are not working.  It is a time of social interaction and fellowship together with informal and informative topics of discussion.

Then there are the social activities. We regularly have family fun activities - usually once a month - where we can simply enjoy each others fellowship and let our hair down a little. Activities in the past have included: A car rally & Barbeque, a canal trip on a barge, a walk followed by fish and chip supper, a family picnic and a trivial pursuit evening with Chinese supper.
